Fulcrum Technologies, Inc. is an engineering and design-focused make-to-order manufacturer specializing in the design, manufacture, install, and test structural support products that are engineered to meet the demanding performance criteria and precise build quality required to successfully interface precision manufacturing equipment with the facilities where they are operated.
The Fulcrum Technologies, Inc. brand is recognized throughout the US Semiconductor industry as a top-tier provider of product and service solutions within our area of expertise. We will expand the application of that expertise and recognition of our brand to other similarly demanding industries in the US and abroad by maintaining a safe work environment where our technical expertise can remain focused on creating a high-quality product and service solutions that meet the schedule and value needs of our customers.
The Fulcrum Story
Fulcrum Technologies, Inc. began designing and manufacturing pedestals for the semiconductor industry in 2000 in response to increasingly stringent installation site performance criteria specified by photolithography and metrology equipment manufacturers. Site specifications for vibration, stiffness, pedestal dimensional accuracy, tool seismic anchorage requirements, utility routing considerations and more drove fab owners to obtain highly specialized pedestals for these types of tools.
Using the traditional supply chain to obtain these specialized pedestals; i.e, separately engaging all the different disciplines required to meet the various criteria and bring each project to successful completion, often proved to be difficult and time consuming for the fab owner. And, too often, this approach resulted in marginal performance and quality. In extreme cases, the underperforming pedestal compromised the operation of the equipment, and the pedestal had to be replaced
The company founders were in a unique position to support fab owners in that effort as years of previous production tool site prep, installation, and fit up experience provided a holistic understanding of the disciplines needed to design, manufacture, and install high performance pedestals. Experience managing tool installation projects for fab owners made it clear that many difficulties encountered in coordinating the various entities could be eliminated, the process streamlined, and the product improved by bringing all those functions together under one roof. And so, Fulcrum Technologies, Inc. was formed to do just that.
Over the 20+ years since founding, we have expanded our capabilities and honed our expertise to include a range of products and services that meet the specifications of the most sophisticated photolithography equipment installed in the newest facilities. In doing so, we have created a highly developed organization that will continue to evolve and grow to meet our customer’s needs.
About Fulcrum
Fulcrum Technologies, Inc. designs and manufactures machine bases for vibration-sensitive production tools used in the semiconductor fabrication process. Most of our products are installed to support Photolithography or Metrology equipment, but we also manufacture bases for structural support of tools too heavy to be placed on a typical access floor. For process tools requiring compliance with a stiffness and/or flatness specification, a concrete top structure with a steel sub-frame is utilized. This combination of materials results in more reliable, repeatable performance characteristics at a cost-competitive price with other designs.
- Our bases are designed to provide appropriate structural support without amplification of floor vibration that interfere with tool performance.
- Fulcrum Technologies, Inc. also provides custom engineered seismic restraint systems and calculation submittals specific to the tool/base/facility combination.
- Fulcrum Technologies is a qualified Nikon and ASML supplier of machine support frames. We also provide bases for over 16 other equipment manufactures.
